Stevens Library achieves Net-Zero Energy Building Certification

Feb 18, 2015

Sacred Heart Lower and Middle School’s Stevens Library (WRNS Studio) in Atherton, CA has achieved Net-Zero Energy Building Certification (NZEB) by the International Living Future Institute. This is the first library and the second school in the country to achieve this certification, following Hood River Middle School’s Music and Science Building, for which Interface also provided MEP design services.

The year-round library has been third-party verified to operate at an EUI of less than 20 kBTU/sf/yr for over a year while generating more than twice its required energy use. To read more about this project, click here for a case study.
