Columbia River Gorge Discovery Center
The Dalles, OR
This 20,000 SF facility was a joint effort
of the federal and Wasco County governments.
It features a theatre, classrooms, café,
museum store and gallery. The federal
component included a discovery center, which
delves into the geologic, natural and cultural
history of the gorge. The Wasco County
component includes a museum that features county
history and an Oregon Trail Living History Park.
The park has exhibits from the pioneer period
and Lewis and Clark and Native American culture
exhibits. Interface provided lighting design
for the museum as well as the exterior and all
public spaces.
