Health Care Engineering Projects

OHSU River Campus, Building One
Portland, OR
Oregon Health Sciences University is expanding
their campus down the hill with a new, 360,000
SF, 16-story medical office and wellness building.
The medical offices will be built atop a 3-level,
below-grade parking structure. This portion
of the project involves only shell and core
components, as we will complete tenant improvement
work under a separate contract. Interface
is currently in the design stage, and is providing
HVAC, plumbing, electrical, power and back-up
power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm
systems design. Systems included in these
designs are natural ventilation and thermal
mass utilization, radiant heating/cooling, and
thermal storage. In order to meet project
goals of a 25% reduction in MEP infrastructure
costs and energy performance at 40% below Oregon
Energy Code requirements, our experts are also
performing building energy and thermal mass
modeling, life cycle cost analyses for various
mechanical and electrical systems to meet project
goals, and are participating in LEED® and
sustainability goal setting.
