Interface worked as part of a team on a fast-tracked
design-assist project for Tyco Precision Interconnect
in Wilsonville. By working closely with Precision
to determine specific needs in each area of
the building, Interface supplied the mechanical
and electrical contractors with the detailed
information they needed to provide fixed-cost
estimates for mechanical and electrical systems
throughout the facility. In this way, Interface
helped the project developer, Specht Wilsonville
LLC, guarantee Precision a firm price for construction
of the new plant. Interface designed a duct
distribution system that allowed extremely even
temperatures throughout the spacious manufacturing
area. Interface also designed five separate
process chilled water systems, various process
exhaust systems, a material transfer system
for plastic beads fed to injection molders,
and systems for compressed air, industrial water,
vapor extraction and grinding and welding exhaust.
