Downtown Infill and Streetscape Design Standards
The Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council (UPC) agency is responsible for the future of Abu Dhabi’s urban environments, and the expert authority behind the visionary Plan Abu Dhabi 2030 Urban Structure Framework Plan, which is designed to respond to Abu Dhabi’s development needs.
The UPC retained SERA Architects and Interface Engineering to create Downtown Infill and Streetscape Design Standards for a prototypical downtown block. The proposed infill block will be a community of mixed-use neighborhoods featuring residential, retail, and commercial buildings, below grade parking, and community facilities. It will also address affordability, serving as a model for sustainable community planning, architectural and systems design.
