Medical Clinic
One Community Health, a Federally Qualified Health Center, replaced its 29-year-old Hood River clinic with a two-story, 38,000 square foot building more than double the size. The new center brings physical, mental, oral, and preventative care under one roof, with over 25 exam rooms, an ultrasound room, two procedure rooms, and a lobby and community rooms open for public use.

Construction started before COVID-19 arrived, and the team adjusted the building's systems mid-construction to reduce the risk of airborne transmission. The HVAC systems include negative pressure rooms, photohydroionization air purification, MERV-15 filtration, and optimized air change rates, giving patients and staff multiple layers of protection in a building expected to serve the community for decades. The existing clinic stayed fully operational next door throughout construction. Once staff moved in, it was demolished and replaced with parking, a stormwater planter, and underground stormwater retention. With the project funded largely through USDA federal grants, Interface kept its systems design within the project budget.
