Urban Renewables

2026 High-Performance Building Webinar Series

As buildings electrify and energy demands grow, project teams are also being asked to reduce carbon, increase resilience, and make better use of renewable energy. In dense urban environments, achieving those goals takes more than selecting a technology. It requires careful integration with the building, site, utility infrastructure, and overall design.

On November 18, Interface Engineering’s Culai Silitra, PE, Associate Principal/Senior Electrical Engineer, will present Urban Renewables, a one-hour AIA-accredited webinar exploring practical approaches to integrating renewable energy into buildings, campuses, and districts.

The session will examine rooftop photovoltaic systems, building-integrated photovoltaics, solar canopies, battery energy storage systems, and microgrids along with the architectural and engineering constraints that affect their feasibility.

Rather than treating renewables as an add-on, the course will introduce a concept-stage feasibility workflow that helps project teams identify opportunities and constraints early, coordinate infrastructure and space requirements, and establish a realistic path toward implementation and future expansion.
