Totaling 60,000 sf and over four floors with a full height atrium, grand staircase, and connecting walkways on each floor, the LEED Gold Ford Alumni Center is a striking yet complicated building, and a true showcase of integrated design.

Housing both interactive displays and office space, the Ford Alumni Center serves multiple functions for the University of Oregon. The building is bathed in natural light and Interface's lighting studio incorporated daylighting controls throughout the space to maximize it. The lighting studio also integrated artistic lighting features like the fiber optic orbs that hang in the atrium; O-shaped chandeliers in the great room; and energy-efficient slot luminaires in the offices. The overall the design creates a cozy atmosphere while connecting visitors with the University’s past, present and future.
