Interface Engineering’s design services for the new ground-up 280,000-square-foot, five-story building included full core and shell development for floors 1 through 5, as well as tenant improvement design and execution. Interface provided sustainability analysis and energy modeling, evaluating pathways for Net Zero, LEED certification, WELL environmental criteria, and on-site renewable energy systems.

Branded as The Sports House, the new headquarters is one of the region’s most environmentally responsive buildings, targeting net-zero energy and carbon performance through significant reductions in both embodied and operational impacts. The mass timber structure comprising glulam columns, beams, and CLT floor systems achieves an estimated 60–70% reduction in embodied carbon compared to conventional steel or concrete systems.

The campus integrates high-performance systems including heating and cooling supported by approximately 325 geothermal wells, a dedicated outdoor air system (DOAS) with energy recovery, high-performance glazing with solar shading, and rainwater harvesting. These strategies reduce energy use intensity (EUI) from a baseline of 65 kBtu/SF/year to approximately 25, with nearly 4,000 photovoltaic panels further offsetting demand to support net-zero operations.

Additional sustainable design features include a landscaped roof, enhanced envelope performance, indoor air quality monitoring, and site restoration with native planting. The project has achieved LEED Platinum certification and is designed to meet the International Living Future Institute’s zero carbon certification requirements.

Designed to align with the company’s commitment to ‘Act Sustainably’ and a hybrid working style, the building features interior spaces that promote collaboration, a 24,000-square-foot flagship retail store open to the public, and state-of-the-art sports facilities set within a vibrant landscape with pedestrian pathways throughout the campus and along the waterfront. The program incorporates both exterior digital displays and immersive interior environments, including a “Make You Famous” video wall, a flagship studio wall, and largescale media features that reinforce the brand’s innovative identity.
